Introduction
HMD global has yet again dazzled us with six new budget-friendly Nokia-branded smartphones. The Nakia X10 is one of the most premia of HMD’s offerings with an emphasis on reliability, as well as durability. In this article review, we take a full in-depth tour of the hardware and the software. Now I can tell you that the Nakia X10 does not come with a charger or headphones bundled in the box. You should be able to use your old standard type C charging cable and adapter though with the X10. But if you do need a charger you can grab one directly from our website by following the highlighted link. You do at least get a 100%, same combustible protective case.
Display
Now the Nokia X10’s display is a 6.67-inch IPS whopper. Although at this price point you can get AMOLED screens if you prefer that sharp contrast and punchier, more vivid colors. I am talking about the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 and even Oppo Reno 5F surprisingly. Hello Nokia? But this is absolutely fine for your Netflix session, YouTube, and so on. It’s a Full-HD plus resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. So even though it’s an IPS panel everything looks reasonably crisp. Maybe one final bummer is that there’s no way of changing the refresh rate because it’s a 60 Hertz panel. You don’t have a 90 Hertz or a 120 Hertz refresh option. And there’s no always-on-display feature because it’s an IPS panel. Did I mention there is Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection here?
Platform
So let’s move briefly on to the software and again Nokia fans won’t be surprised to learn that it is on board good stock Android experience here. It is, of course, the latest freshest Android 11. I think we can all agree that HMD Global has always been really good when it comes to guaranteeing security and OS updates. This being the case, the Nokia X10 is no different. You’ve got three guaranteed years of software upgrades on those security updates as well. Yes, this means you will be all the way covered up to Android 14 should you buy this phone.
Performance
As for storage get 64/128GB storage as standard on the Nakia X10. Of course, that is expandable up to half a terabyte via micro SD. Nokia X10 rocks the fresh new Qualcomm SM4350 Snapdragon 480 5G (8 nm) chipset just like the Nokia X20. So then you’re getting 5G future-proofing which on the occasional handsets at this sort of budget price point do deliver. The base version of the Nokia X10 comes with 4 gigs of RAM and there is a 6GB RAM version which will cost a few more of course.
On the left edge of the Nakia X10, you will find a dedicated Google Assistant button. We’re not entirely sure why we need that physical button when you can access the system with a quick swipe up from the corner. The worse news is that you can disable like Google assistant button but can’t map it with a different function. Anyway, Google Assistant is an artificial intelligence-powered virtual assistant developed by Google that is primarily available on mobile and smart home devices.
Battery
Stuffed inside of the Nokia X10 is a Li-Po 4,470 mAh, non-removable battery. Definitely not one of the biggest capacities out there even for budget smartphones. But because of that stock version of Android and the energy-efficient platform and everything, it will easily go a full day. If you’re fairly liberal with your usage be sure you will get two full days of use out of that on a single charge. By liberal, I mean a bit of messaging, a bit of web browsing, and stuff like that. The phone does support fast charging 18W.
