Unboxing
So first up, what do you get in the box of Xiaomi Redmi Note 11? Well, there’s the smartphone itself. You also get yourself a 33W adapter, a USB type C cable, a phone case, a screen protector preinstalled. That’s everything that you get in the box with the phone.
Design and build
Now Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 doesn’t really look particularly different from lots of other Redmi phones from the past. At 6.4 inches it is reasonably compact. You do have some fairly thick bezels down beneath the screen. It’s 179 grams, with reasonably flattish edges, but also quite curved corners. Fits nicely in the hand. The material itself is standard polycarbonate rear, as you’d find on all sorts of budget smartphones around this sort of price point. And you can grab it in three different colors namely Graphite Gray, Pearl White, and Star Blue.
Its camera module is eye-catching. And no real surprises with the rest of the design. You got a headphone jack up top as well as a speaker grill. There is that infrared sensor, another speaker grill down below it next to the type C port. And this phone is IP53 splash resistance. And its display which we have discussed in more detail later in this review is Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
AMOLED Display
One of the best things about the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 is you’ve got a 6.43 inch AMOLED display, which is still pretty rare at this sort of price point. Because this is an AMOLED panel, you can expect nice wide viewing angles and really sharp contrast as well. Very deep pitch black blacks. And on the default color settings, the output is nice and vivid and punching poppy is really good for animation. By default, it is set to 60 Hertz but you can tune it up to 90 Hertz. There’s no dynamic option, unfortunately. This means it can’t automatically choose whether it should stick at 60 Hertz or bump it up to 90 Hertz.
That dingy pinhole at the top is the selfie camera housed up towards the top end. Overall I’d say consuming media on this display is fun. And this is on top of that stereo speaker set up. Present with this display is that underrated Always-on-display feature that you can completely customize. It also is a Full HD Plus 1080 x 2400 pixels display panel with crisp visuals.
Performance
For the performance of Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 which is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 4G (6 nm) chipset backed by either 4 or 6GB DDR4 RAM. The performance will be absolutely fine straight away. And with MIUI experience seems pretty smooth on the whole. As for storage, where you get a choice of 64 or 128 GB of space on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11. The good news is that you also got a separate slot for microSD memory cards up to 1TB. On the security side as well, it’s an edge-mounted fingerprint sensor built into that power button right.
Platform
The software here on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 will not be a surprise at all. This is the latest freshest MIUI 13, set on top of Android 11, not the latest version, Android 12. This version looks and feels more like stock Android with the Google discover feed, an app tray, swipe down from anywhere to access your notifications, and so on. But it also brings with it MIUI specials, like the control center. Which you can drag down from the right side of the screen. And you’ve got a variety of different sorts of themes to choose from as well.
Battery
Since Qualcomm SM6225 Snapdragon 680 4G (6 nm) chipset is energy efficient, the battery while 5,000 mAh battery of Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 is more than you actually imagine it to be. It should certainly see you through a full day on a single charge. And when the phone is fully drained, you’ve got 33W wired charging support there with the 33W adapter bundled in the box.
Cameras
The 50 MP, f/1.8, 26mm (wide), PDAF cameras of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 is its main shooter. But there are three other lenses on there. They include an 8 MP, f/2.2, 118˚ (ultrawide), a 2 MP, f/2.4, (macro), and a 2 MP, f/2.4, (depth). The front-facing camera is a 13-megapixel selfie shooter. And again, pretty basic you do have an HDR option, which you can toggle on or off.
Our take
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 comes packed in the latest freshest MIUI 13 launcher. its got a Qualcomm SM6225 Snapdragon 680 4G (6 nm) chipset, a mighty 5,000 mAh battery, and a 50 MP, f/1.8, 26mm (wide), PDAF primary camera. These, together with an AMOLED, 90Hz refresh rate display are some pretty decent specs for that price. And its actual experience is also very impressive so it is a phone we recommend with much ease.
