90Hz Display
On the front of the Xiaomi Poco M4 Pro phone is a 6.6 inch IPS LCD with a 1080 P resolution and a hole punch for the selfie camera. It should be quite durable too. Thanks to gorilla glass Victus protection. The M4 Pro 5G display has a fast 90Hz Hertz refresh rate. This adds extra smoothness to your swiping and scrolling making the phone feel really responsive too. High frame rate gaming is supported as well. And to save energy, the refresh rate is adaptive and can dial all the way down based on the content. Overall, this display is sharp enough and the black levels are some of the deepest you will see on an LCD. There’s HDR 10 support too and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
Performance
You will have no complaints there to be fair with the performance of this phone. There’s a MediaTek Dimensity 810 5G (6 nm) chipset that coppe even on the base model with its 4GB or 6GB RAM. And of course, this delivers support over both of the dual SIM slots as well. Xiaomi Poco M4 Pro packs a Li-Po 5000 mAh battery which again means all-day usage with much ease and breeze with at least 25 to 30% battery life remaining. And then it has a fast-charged 33 @which gives it 0 to 100% in 59 minutes as advertised by Xiaomi.
For its operating system, Xiaomi M4 Pro runs on MIUI 12 based on Android 11. Pre-installed apps include Amazon shopping, booking.com, LinkedIn, Mi-remote, and the usual apps from Google, such as YouTube, Gmail drive photos, and the like. It also has a dedicated dark mode that can be toggled on in the settings. Storage-wise you are getting 128 gigabytes of space with a usable 107 gigs out of the box. Not to the internals.
Cameras
When you flip the Poco M4 Pro smartphone around you can’t miss the camera module on the back. The same constitutes a 50 MP, f/1.8, 26mm (wide), PDAF, and an 8 MP, f/2.2, 119˚ (ultrawide) lens. With 50 megapixels you should expect detailed shots. As far as videos go, this phone can shoot up to 1080p@30fps with the main camera as well as the selfie. It has a 16-megapixel selfie which is a 16 MP, f/2.5, (wide) capable of panorama shots. The 8 MP, f/2.2, 119˚ (ultrawide) lens of the M4 Pro is also a silent highlight if you ask me. Shots are decent and 119˚ coverage is one even some of its competitors at this price point can only envy.
Battery and connectivity
Xiaomi Poco M4 Pro comes with the usual connectivity features such as dual SIM wifi 5, Bluetooth, 5.1, a USB type C port, an IRA blaster, fingerprint scanners, and of course the lovely 3.5-millimeter audio Jack. Powering the Poco M4 Pro is a large 5,000 mAh capacity battery, which is great for an affordable daily driver. If you’re a light user, then this phone’s battery life should be more than enough for your daily needs. And it does support fast charging 18W in case you are wondering.
